Retro Rumours

We shot our AW16 lookbook 'Retro Rumours' in a beautiful furnished house in Notting Hill, London. The house was decorated in an inviting, warm and friendly way; perfect for our story inspired by nostalgic memories of the 70s. The location was decorated with unique artwork, crafted prints and girly furniture; perfect for our 'Retro Rumours' collection featuring feminine dropped waist dresses, stunning prints and flared cuffs.

The accessories for our shoot consisted of vintage boots, metallic buckled brogues and blocked-heeled sandals with glitter socks (how cute). Our talented make-up artist 'Sian' used light contemporary make-up to create a retro look with, minimal blush and tousled hair to complete the look. The model we chose 'Ellen' for this shoot presented the story beautifully with her charisma, elegance and attitude.

Retro Rumours' .. Behind the Scenes

Behind The Scenes 2

So. I assume you have looked at our striking new collection, Retro Rumours… But how to style it? We’ll show you.

The key trend in this 70’s inspired collection is the captivating colour ‘Chartreuse’ and this is a colour that will make you stand out amongst the night time party crowd, or will show everyone who’s boss at work. Combined with bodacious retro patterns such as the classic chevron or one of our geo prints, this collection is hard to miss!

I have created a few style boards to inspire you when buying your perfect outfit, whether it is for daytime or evening wear.

Chartreuse cap sleeve dress
EVENING: As shown in the image, our ever-so-sophisticated Chartreuse cap sleeve bodycon dress is styled as an evening look. Accessorise with a dazzling necklace and a cute clutch.

DAY: To transform this look into day time at work, I have pieced this dress with our Pale Pink Slouchy Wool Coat to create a subtle, but evident contrast to make the outfit pop! Wear with some ankle strap pumps and a matching bag.

Geo printed full skirt

EVENING: This Geo print dress gives the ultimate 70’s vibe! For an evening party look, pair with shiny peep-toe silver platforms, a matching silver clutch and a dramatic hair-do, the perfect flirting outfit!

DAY: For an innocent day time look for heading to lunch with your ladies, wear some silver brogues with adorable frilly socks, accessorise with a baby pink satchel and add the beloved tie-up choker.

70's Chevron Shift dress

EVENING: The perfect Chevron shift dress to make a statement! Show everyone who’s the boss by wearing this striking monochrome chevron pattern with the colour chartreuse illuminating your whole look. Style with a simple choker and cute peep-toe heels to complete the outfit: voila!

DAY: Transforming into a day time look, style this dress with a classic leather jacket and pair with some Chelsea boots ready for the Winter 16 season. Accessorise this with an adorable bucket bag or backpack and bring back out that black choker.

FASHION FRIDAY - Reinventing the 70's

Retro Rumours, our latest Winter collection has just launched and I've been desperate to play with some styling concepts. Now it's getting colder we're looking to long sleeves, thicker weaves, high necks and ankle length wool coats, to keep out that morning chill.
Chartreuse painted stripe and teal trench coat

This is the perfect go-to dress for the office, but doubles nicely as an elegant piece for any occasion, due it's feminine cross over cut. It's a bold statement piece with a lime, teal, bottle green and winter white stripe. Accessorise with teal/ black ankle boots, brogues or heels. Finish the look with matching off the shoulder bag and our signature teal wool trench (coming soon).

long sleeve printed flare dress

Staying true to it's 70's inspiration, this cross over paisley print dress is a great addition to any wardrobe. The flared skirt, nipped waist and cross over v-neck flatters the figure, whilst the long sleeve and thicker material adds lashings of winter warmth. Style with a pair of cute leather boots, chartreuse thick-knit scarf and black leather shoulder bag, to create a casual yet comfortable look. Perfect for autumn strolls or days out with the family. Add a parka or heavy cocoon coat for when it gets really chilly.

teal long sleeve dress

Last but by no means least, this high-collar dress is a contemporary reinvention of the iconic 70's A-line dress. It features 3/4 length sleeves, a high neckline and is constructed from a heavier weave, making this a fun little staple for the colder weather. Not only that, but due to its slightly elasticated material and high hemline, it cuts a smooth and sexy silhouette! I've styled it with 70's inspired floral tights and kitch leather ankle boots to really recreate that 70's feel. Team with dark leggings and matching accessories to achieve a simpler look that's perfect for the office.
